Title: “Coyotes Chase Their Tails”

Medium: Hand-built ceramics
Saskia, in their junior year at Besant Hill School, has joined ceramics for the first time. They have enjoyed experimenting with this new medium. Saskia loves learning new things, especially in the arts, and is happy to call ceramics a new special hobby. Saskia started this piece knowing one thing. She wanted to animate ceramics. She took on this challenge, considering the limitations of the medium and understanding it had to be a functional mug. After doing some research, she decided to create a 6 frame animation of a coyote walking. The idea is, that if you spin the mug at the right speed or take a photo of each frame and line them up at around 4 fps, there is the illusion of a coyote chasing its tail!
