Maryann Michalski Cord, an Ojai-born artist, writer, producer, publisher, preservationist, and entrepreneur, is best known for her figurative ceramic sculptures that explore spirit, emotion, myth, and ancient traditions. Deeply inspired by her mentor Beatrice Wood, Cord’s work reflects Wood’s signature “Sophisticated Primitives” style. She joined the Happy Valley Foundation Board in 2023.
