Artist’s statement: “Growing up, I was exposed to traditional Japanese culture from my step mother, which ended up being a great influence on my art. I especially have always been intrigued by the eastern versions of dragons, which are god-like immortal creatures, traveling the sky endlessly. So I wanted to create a dragon representing the nature of the mythological beings. This dragon represents dark clouds striking lightning from the blue sky, and the peaceful but powerful feel of the eastern dragon.“
